OUR VISION ON AI

In this interview, co-CEO Robert Verberne shares Wenneker.Amsterdam’s vision on AI and how it benefits their clients.

incorporating ai

How do you incorporate AI in your business?

AI is not a trend we’re chasing. It is a suite of tools we’ve chosen to integrate thoughtfully into our daily operations, mostly in our post production pipelines. For us, it is a partner that is helping us build a more advanced, creative, and efficient future. AI isn’t about replacing human creativity; we use it to bring our projects to the next level and to keep costs managed. While it streamlines parts of our workflow, AI will never replace the intuition of our teams. AI takes on tasks that can be optimized, allowing our team to focus on what matters most: creating quality content with at scale.

Background replacements

How can AI extend a content’s lifespan and save money?

Over the years, we’ve used AI to completely re-imagine how we handle repetitive tasks like rotoscoping, image alterations, and resizing edits for social channels. For instance, when we created the European launch toolkit for the new Philips Lumea. We shot all the content in bathrooms. The campaign was a big success, and our client wanted to use the content globally but in the US we were, for safety reasons, not allowed to show use of the product in an environment that remotely looked like there was “water” around, so no sinks, bathtubs etc.

So we had to alter all images and videos to remove these ‘bathroom’ elements. This is where AI came in and sped up the process and quality massively. The redundant task of rotoscoping and “making” up backgrounds that would match with the actual images was done with AI, while our teams did the finishing touches to the image of making it blend in perfectly.

But the main take away here is that we’re able to extend the content’s lifespan and saving approx. €500,000 in production costs by avoiding a complete reshoot.
The result? A streamlined, efficient workflow pushes our high standards for quality even further.

ai in modular production

How is AI changing modular production?

Our modular production approach has also evolved with AI, allowing us to generate an even wider range of assets efficiently from a single shoot. One example is in our approach to social commerce content for ARLA. Here, we bring together the best of both worlds. For social commerce, there’s a constant need for fresh, channel-specific content. We use AI in a layered approach to create backgrounds and help with resizing and versioning, while our post team integrates products using 3D to make sure each piece looks just right. This allows us to be extremely efficient and effective by create high-quality content with a variety of outputs, without additional shoots being necessary and using elements that we’ve already created.

our approach

What does the future of AI look like for Wenneker.Amsterdam?

With AI supporting our modular productions, we’ve seen that our solutions answer the needs of global brands, delivering toolkits that stay consistent in quality and resonate across multiple platforms, extending lifespans of content. This approach lets us provide flexible, scalable solutions that keep creativity at the forefront while being conscious on costs.

At Wenneker.Amsterdam, we see it as our responsibility to use AI in ways that benefit our projects, not dictate them. We will stay frontrunners by adopting and integrating new AI technologies as they become available and combining them to create our own unique production pipelines. This approach enables us to create value in productions today rather than in the distant future, positioning AI as one of our most valuable partners in the process.
